Ways To Enjoy a Vacation With Your Pet

Vacationing with or without your pet is a time to relax and soak up under the sun or just appreciate the greenery on a camping trail. A trip becomes enjoyable when preparations have been made in advance with every human and canine detail considered.

Here are some tips for that guaranteed care-free time on the road…
Pets must be fed or given water 2 hours before the trip. By that time your pet has gone potty before the car hits on the road.

Exercise and walk your dog minutes before the trip. Have your pet spend its energy to make sure they keep still or fall asleep while on the road. An exhausted dog is a sleepy one on any trip.

On long cross-country trips, plan some stops along the way. Stops are better at gas stations , fast-food joints and at inns. Use this time to let pets stretch its legs or relieve itself or drink some water (if weather is too hot).

Traveling without air-conditioning, help your pets cool down by just keeping passenger windows a third open. Letting air circulate keeps dogs cooled but safe.

Never open window all the way, dogs sticking their heads out never risk falling off only in the movies. A dog hanging its head out when you're doing close to a hundred in a highway or stretch of road will cause inflammation of eyes, ears or in the throat.

Have a packet of sweets or some honey handy just in case your pet gets car sick. A case of car sickness in pets is possible specially when it is its first time to travel.

There's not much to having your pet along for a family vacation or being your side kick for the trip. Pets would enjoy the trip when it feels you enjoying. Planning and coordinating your trip ensures a wonderful vacation.
